Exchange Assessment Tool

What is it?

The Exchange Assessment Tool (EAT) consists of four parts; an instructing document, one questionnaire intended for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), one questionnaire intended for public research organisations (PRO) and one Excel-file for analysing and storing the answers received from interviewing personnel at both SMEs and PROs.

The Exchange Assessment Tool helps to give a more nuanced view of results achieved through KT activities, while at the same time provide insight into and facilitate learning and understanding of the KT process for the parties involved (the public research organisation, as the knowledge provider, and the company, as the recipient/user of the knowledge).

Who is it for?

These tools were designed with both public research organisations and companies in mind which have little or no experience with knowledge transfer assessment.

In order to enable a holistic view of the KT process, it is important that both sides (public research organisations and companies) are involved and addressed through the tool by interviews. Through an analysis of the answers from personnel at the respective organisations, the tool will assist the KT staff to identify conflicting interests, challenges, differing expectations, different culture, etc. and help the staff improve their models/processes with this in mind. It will furthermore give the KT staff more tangible results to be used to display the results of the KT process.
